Royal Palace of Caserta

 

The back of the Royal Palace

An 18th century palace for the Bourbon kings of Naples and Sicily.  There are over 1200 rooms inside.

 

Palace construction began in 1752 by King Charles VII of Naples and was completed by his son, King Ferdinand of Naples.  Charles VII had abdicated to become King of Spain.
