Mille Miglia

The famous Mille Miglia (1000 Miles) road rally.  This 1000 mile long road rally runs from Brescia to Rome and back again.  It's three days of driving and is a gathering place of vintage sports cars.  In 2007, there were 375 classic, million-dollar machines entered in the race.  The event started as a race in the mid-1920's, but was changed to a road rally after a bad accident.

The 2010 race entry fee was € 6,060.00, only a small percentage of the worth of each machine.  The cars  are mostly race cars, but all are classics.  The race cars all make a lot of noise.  Want to buy a Mille Miglia baseball cap, it cost  € 30.00, don't even think about their wind breaker jacket.

Capitolium

The Capitolium is a Corinthian temple erected by the Emperor Vespasian in 73 AD as a sign of his affection for Brixia (the Roman name for the city) after the battle of Bedriacum, from which he rose to emperor.  The temple was dedicated to the gods Jupiter, Juno and Minerva.

Note the rather unusual construction using a brick-like material.
