4th century Roman-period main gate to the city.  Perge was a major city in the ancient area called Pamphylia.

3rd Century Hellenistic-Roman, City, Gate-Tower

Greeks from Rhodes settled here in the 7th century BC.

This area was inhabited as early as 3000 BC.
